HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!

REFLECTING ON A GREAT YEAR

It has been my pleasure to spend another wonderful year with our sweet Bobcats, supportive parents, and dedicated staff.  Each day, I feel lucky to be surrounded by students who love to learn, and caring adults who help them to grow.  Thank you, families, for your continued support of our academic initiatives, behavioral supports and interventions, and community-building events.  Your commitment to your child’s education is a true testament to our special school.

May you enjoy all of the fun around Bennie this week!  We look forward to seeing many of you at the upcoming events.  Enjoy your time together this summer!  Remember to squeeze in some reading every day!  We look forward to seeing you a little older, a little wiser, and a little taller in the fall.  It was a great year to be a Bennie Bobcat!

Sincerely,

Sara Metzger, Principal

THANK YOU, PTA

We are so grateful to our Bennie PTA, who has made a generous donation to our school so we may begin construction of our Outdoor Learning Center this summer!  This was made possible by the generosity of Bennie families through this year’s fundraising efforts!  Stay tuned for text reminders this summer when we are ready for a work crew!

FIELD DAY

It’s that time of year again and we are in need of your help to make this a great field day for our bobcats.  We will have stations set up outside at Bennie Elementary or the APHS Multi-plex depending on the weather.  If you are interested in assisting with this great event, please  sign up up for one or both sessions.  We need volunteers to run the stations and for the water/snack stations.  The morning session will run from 9:00 am -11:00 am, please arrive at 8:30am for setup and instruction.  The afternoon session will run from 1:15 pm – 3:15 pm, please arrive at 12:45pm for instruction.  Lunch will be provided by your Bennie PTA and will be served at 11:15am for all volunteers!   We will run field day rain or shine!  Please click here to volunteer!  FIELD DAY

SUMMER GARDEN SIGNUP

Please follow the link below if you are willing to help take care of the Bennie Courtyard Garden over the summer.  Use this sign up to “adopt” a week.  We ask that you come check on the garden during your week, water if needed and weed a little.  All supplies are in the small Rubbermaid shed in the courtyard.  The gates to the courtyard will be open Monday-Thursday from 7-1.

A few notes:  All children must be supervised by an adult.  The building itself will be locked – so consider bringing water bottles if you think you’ll get thirsty.  The dates on the signup are for the “week of …”, please come on whatever days work for you during the open gate times.  Please be sure to wind the hoses back up before you leave to ensure they don’t get accidentally mowed over.

Let us know what you saw and what you were able to do by emailing pictures to Mrs. Klein at klein@appublicschools.com or tagging her on twitter at @maureenklein
